Summary
Every object has a resonant frequency that, when achieved, makes it vibrate vigorously and cause sounds to occur at that specific resonant frequency. They may have multiple resonant frequencies, and it is the combination of those frequencies that define its sound characteristics. In this exercise, a small brass bell was modeled and ran through an FEA simulation to find its resonant frequencies and where the displacement is highest in the bell.
Results
The small bell has resonant frequencies of 0.0003 Hz and 0.0009 Hz.
